Every other design blogger seemed to get all flippin excited about these. Which I ABSOLUTELY did not understand. Hideous waste of a die-cut if you ask me. This, however, is smart, useful design. I approve.

I always think I should save my boarding passes, as a momento of my travels… But these days they’re not even kitschy ugly, they’re just entirely unremarkable. Tyler N. Thompson is imagining another world.

MephoBox is a brilliant and invaluable resource for web designers. The site is divided into sections for standard web elements (Calendars, 404 Errors, Footers, Headers, Comments), and each section showcases the most creative and innovative of those elements on the web. Go forth and steal design! I mean, be inspired!

When I was in second grade, my mom had the brilliant idea to hand-write invitations to my birthday on balloons — the recipients would have to blow them up to get the party info. Sadly, the marker on latex smudged in the mail and no one could figure out what the balloons were about. My mom’s idea was awesome and creative, but these silk-screened invites are a much safer bet.

I absolute LOVE this post. Typography.com did a really gorgeous tutorial outlining 4 techniques for combining multiple fonts in one layout. Their font choices are beautiful and really inspirational.

Sent to me by my friend Chela, A Day in the Life of a Designer. Interesting that “Art & Design” is a separate category from “Work”.
Would you have made that distinction?

The ultimate art history cheat sheet, in the form of a nicely typeset poster. And to think, you went to school for this.
