I like to think that I’m a great DIY-er, but truth be told, I seldom do DIM. And quilting seems to be on the very high end of motivated DIY-ing, so I probably won’t ever make use of this Single Girl Quilt pattern by Denyse Schmidt. But I do covet it.
ps- Found via the now defunct yet still loved loved Blueprint. I’m going through all my old blueprints and their online archives and I’m finding them as inspirational and relevant now as they ever were.

There are some really nice details in this wedding. I especially like the succulents-in-beakers and the shipping tag seat assignments.

I love the colors and simplicity of this set of origami Matryoshka dolls from Japan. This is exactly the kind of thing I buy, fold, and then have no idea what to do with. But I’ll never stop! And while I’m at it, I might buy just about everything else from Upon a Fold.

If I start this now in preparation for Christmas ‘10, will I still love it by then? Alternately, if I make this now and leave it up for the rest of the year, will it still feel festive, come Christmas ‘10? Felt Ball Christmas Wreath.

I love knots. And knots like these are simultaneously so appealingly nautical and japanese. Make your own rope knot trivet (or wall hanging, or… whatever) with these step-by-step instructions from Design*Sponge.

I like type more than art, and I like it everywhere. Someday I will make this giant type art piece… I just have to figure out what to say. Super doable instructions here.

I love this. Cheap, handmade, festive, pretty. The colors are gorgeous. The streamer adds another layer of fun. Someday, when I have a room that’s allowed to be super girly, I’ll do this.

I’ve always loved maps and map pins — maps for their bright colors, expanses of blue, and sober typography; map pins for their perfect little round heads and myriad colors. MapCenter.com is a terrific resource for both. See Jordan Ferney’s sweet newlywed map project on Project Wedding for a great idea of what to do with both.
